Al Ansaar Community Centre Project

Overview

Build a House for Allah - Be a Part of This Noble Mission

The Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) said:

“Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

Al Ansaar Community Centre (ACC) was opened in 2021 to provide a safe inclusive prayer vicinity space for the Muslims in the northern side of Adelaide, South Australia. ACC aims to provide a gather place for the whole community to socialise and help the youth through counselling, parenting advise, homework club and charier advice. ACC also provides other programs such as Quran and Arabic Classes, Food Campaign, Ladies Bootcamp and Weekly Lectures

Alhamdulillah, over the years the Muslim community in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia has grown enormously with the current census stating there are over 12,000 Muslims in the northern suburbs but unfortunately  the size of the facility we currently have cannot provide an inclusive space for more than 200 people and there are also no other community centres in the north that meet our communities requirement.

A number of activities have been conducted in the Al Ansaar Community Centre, including Sunday Lectures, Children's Quran Classes, Brothers Hifz Program, Fiqh Classes, Aqeeda Classes, Ramadan Iftars, Sisters Halaqah, Sisters Quran and Arabic Classes, Nikkah Program and many more. However, due to the significant increase of the Muslim Population in the North of Adelaide and the relatively small capacity of the building and its inadequate size, we are unable to run most of the programs anymore.

The ACC Community Centre project aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for the Muslim community. The focus is on providing extended prayer area for both men and women, a space for Muslim teenagers to congregate, develop, learn and grow while also involving families in community development.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“The mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, give zakah, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.”

(Surah At-Tawbah: 9:18)
